The Lollipops of Leighton Buzzard is a new piece of Public Art in laser cut steel that is positioned in the centre of town. The thin signs allow them to be arranged in a circle around a public seating space which centres around a public space.

Public Art in Houghton Regis
We have been commissioned to undertake a public art commission as part of the design of public open space associated with the new public open space at Houghton Regis. The artworks are being developed as a suite of three interpretive installations.

Sustrans commissioned us to create two bespoke route marker and gateway features designed and installed for locations close to Dunstable and Luton Airport.
The artworks are made from laser-cut Corten weathering steel, and has been designed to highlight the routes and provide attractive and prominent formal entrances which will encourage more walkers and cyclists to use the routes.

Black to Green Interpretation
This is the end of a two year process of design and various stages of interpretation ideas. The brief originally came to us with the desire to create a series of hubs using cut through corten steel. However, we felt that this treatment was a little unsympathetic to the project aims so we created a completely new design. The hubs came from the notion of a pit wheel within which we introduced the stories of the landscape setting for each hub. Thus the story is in steel. The interpretation panel inserted into the hub puts flesh on the bones of these stories. The spinning zinc etched discs and coloured resin introduce a fun element allowing for the interpretation to appeal to a wide ranging audience including children.

The Bronze Toposcope is now complete and installed at Europe’s largest windfarm. The interpretation features include a large 1.5 metre bronze disc with a landscape panorama of the surrounding scene as well as topographical features and four supporting discs illustrating the local heritage.

This is a bronze cast toposcope which describes the surrounding features as well as linking the site to other places around the world. The disc features poetry and original illustrations which have been cast into bronze. We designed the cairn and commissioned a Lincolnshire based stonemason and used Lincoln Limestone for the build.
