This is a bronze cast toposcope which describes the surrounding features as well as linking the site to other places around the world. The disc features poetry and original illustrations which have been cast into bronze. We designed the cairn and commissioned a Lincolnshire based stonemason and used Lincoln Limestone for the build.
The design included detailed illustrations of the landscape of the Coastal Marshes. As part of this design we researched the landscape and history and introduced poetry and artwork that provides the visitor with an interesting and engaging piece that doesn't just spell it out. You really have to look and look again in order to take in the story it is telling you.
The piece was cast in bronze and mounted onto a sandstone cairn designed by us.
