The centrepiece of the park is Northumberlandia, a stunning human landform sculpture of a reclining lady. Made of 1.5 million tonnes of rock, clay and soil, she is 100 feet high and a quarter of a mile long. Far from being a rigid manicured art form Northumberlandia is a living part of the countryside that will mature over time and change with the seasons. What you see when you visit is only the start of something that will evolve through generations.

Bearpark Community centre is at the hub of the local village, a red brick building originally built in 1921 as a miners welfare hall. An old pit wheel stands in front of the building, a memorial to the village’s mining history. We were asked to produce two panels exploring the mining history as well as the story of the Scottish King being caught by his reflection as he hid under the bridge here.

We have successfully completed the LEADER funded project for Mapa Scotland. This fascinating project involved; community consultation, education and activity plan, interpretation panels – we used a GRP with a ten year guarantee against fading and is in a frameless carrier tray. The panel is mounted onto our own unique ARC lectern in mild steel, interpretative leaflet and a website in English and Polish.
